Keller is back at it again. And this time, he's
brought the whole group along for the ride.
Live,
Williams's first CD/DVD with band mates Keith Moseley (String Cheese Incident)
on bass, Gibb Droll (Brandi Carlisle) on guitar and Jeff Sipe (Aquarium Rescue
Unit) on drums will please the seasoned jam band devotee and introduce new fans
to the live jam-band experience.
The double-disk set serves as a reference to how much the group has evolved since their first jam session at Bonnaroo in 2007. Williams has a virtual hall-of-fame lineup from the jam band scene behind him-but don't expect this show to be the same as the last. The group touches on everything from jazzed-out improvisations to traditional bluegrass compositions, while keeping their roots planted in Grateful Dead-style jams. Tracks like "Reinhardt Rag" and "No Sugar Tonight" showcase the band's devotion to bluegrass, while others like "Look at Where We Are" and "Thin Mint" will have you wondering who's killing the keys. Don't be fooled, that's simply Droll showing off his uncanny ability to manipulate his tone to echo anyone from John Scofield to Jimi Hendrix.
With all-star players and a massive amount of
potential, Keller Williams and his new group are sure to gain momentum as they
continue to evolve.
