Ryan Adams To Pen Prose Collection

Hooks up with Akashic for 2009 book.

Both NME.Com and the NY Post are reporting that Ryan Adams — described straight-facedly by the latter as an “EMO rocker,” har har — are reporting that the songwriter is due to publish a collection of prose, due sometime in 2009.

The as-yet-untitled book’s to be published by Brooklyn’s respected literary house Akashic Books. According to the NY Post, “’They just signed the contract,’ said our source, ‘and they plan to release it in 2009.’ A rep for Adams confirmed the deal, but wouldn't comment on a working title or when it would hit the shelves.”

A note on Adams’ website further notes that he is “currently working on his new album and forthcoming book of poetry” and, according to Adams’ management, “an art show of our artist’s paintings is also being planned. Stay tuned.”
