Yes, indeedy, this is a gratuitous plug, but the music content is pretty strong, so don't sweat it. This Sunday, June 7, brings the latest installment of the Asheville Sound Swap - in Asheville, NC, natch, right near the BLURT summer vacation cabin (ask us about our mentoring sessions held deep in the western North Carolina mountains sometime) - which is exactly what the name implies.

Call it a record show, call it a swap meet, call it a gathering together in one room of a bunch of anal-retentive obsessives with low social skillz (although back in October at the last one, no less than Greg Cartwright of the Reigning Sound and James Jackson Toth of Wooden Wand were selling their wares), but a good time is guaranteed by all no matter what you call it.

From 11 am until about 5pm at the local Grey Eagle venue, dealers will be setting up and flogging their product while deejays spin hot wax over the club's PA system. There's even a bar and restaurant serving up nourishing amenities. How do we know? Because we set up at a table each time too (unloading all that junk we get in the mail during the year that no sane editor or writer would want to hang on to in a million years, but that's a whole other story... this year we're dragging out the rare vinyl).
