Dave Schools Blurt Blog: Jeff Beck Rools!

Two ducks walk into a bar. The first duck says to the second duck, "Do you think the first Jeff Beck Group, the one with Rod Stewart, or the second version, with Bobby Tench, was more powerful?" The bartender leans over and comments, "Say, we don't get too many ducks in this place..."

 

Okay, so it's an old joke. But we have Jeff Beck on our mind today, courtesy the latest entry in Dave Schools' blog, which you can find HERE. In it, the Widespread Panic bassist sings the praises of the legendary axeman and talks about seeing the current incarnation of the Beck group perform in Oakland recently.

 

"A staggering display of electric virtuosity without musical snobbery and overt academics," is Schools' assessment.

 

And we could not agree more.
