Sigur Ros Tour + New Album Preview!

Chill out this fall with the boys from Iceland.
By Fred Mills
Say this aloud six times really fast, and it will be yours: Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust (English translation: with a buzz in our ears we play endlessly). That’s the title of the new Sigur Ros album, and it can actually be yours next week, June 24th from XL Recordings. And if you scroll down to the CD reviews section on the BLURT home page you’ll find a sneak preview review of the album — consider it one of BLURT’s little public service announcements (with guitars).
Meanwhile, the Icelandic auteurs have a tour slated to kick off September 17 in NYC. It will through the first week of October and tix are now on sale as a presale for fans via the band’s website. A general on-sale will take place on June 27.
This info just in from the band’s handlers: “Sigur Rós recently performed a handful of live shows in North America this month, taking the band from Mexico to this year's Bonnaroo Festival, to New York City, where they played two very amazing, very special shows, including one at the Museum of Modern Art. Mixing classic, fan-favorites from their critically-acclaimed catalogue with new songs from the brilliant Með suð í eyrum…, Sigur Rós’ live show is the best it’s ever been. The shows this Fall will see the band – comprised of Jón Thor Birgisson (vocals, guitar), Georg Holm (bass), Kjartan Sveinsson (keyboards/piano), and Orri Páll Dýrason (drums) – performing as a four-piece for the first time in almost ten years.”
