Roky Erickson Ice Cream Social at SXSW

The psychedelic legend will be performing with Blurt heroes Okkervil River

One of the high points of any SXSW is the annual Rocky Erickson Ice Cream Social, held on the outside stage at Threadgill's. This year marks the seventh installment, and it promises to be a blast to rival the one a few years ago when Roky made his official return-to-performing appearance with the Explosives.

This year the former 13^th Floor Elevators frontman will play host and perform with Okkervil River, with other bands slated to appear including Heartless Bastards, Black Joe Lewis, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Tallest Man on Earth (Sweden), Dynah, Wil Cope, The Golden Dogs, Warlocks and Chief Rival.  

Note that this is not an official SXSW-affiliated event: Tickets are $25, available at Frontgate Tickets, because it's a benefit:  HAAM, the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, will receive a portion of the proceeds.
