Mark E. Smith Confused w/Teen Popster

It's not every day we can report on something Mark E. Smith related, but we're always keeping our fingers crossed. Indeed, Britain's The Sun has been reporting that due to a snafu in production at Universal UK, initial pressings of the new album by 13-year old Faryl Smith, the teen pop tart winner of Britain's Got Talent (similar to America's Got Talent, American Idol, etc.) who signed a contract reportedly worth £2.3million and therefore deemed the largest such deal ever given to someone that age, actually contained copies of the Fall's 2008 album Imperial Wax Solvent tucked inside the package.

A right rowche rumble ensued, with lots of finger pointing and hand wringing, etc. According to The Sun, Universal "had ordered hundreds of copies and they were staggered by what was on it. They have had severe words with the pressing plant."

Only one question: only hundreds? We knew that CD sales were in the toilet, but still... They better have a kickass 360 deal in place for young Faryl if they hope to recoup that signing fee....

Meanwhile, unconfirmed rumors have Mark E. Smith planning on auditioning for the next season of Britain's Got Talent following an extended visit to his orthodontist.
