More concert coverage from your friendly neighborhood BLURT - this time, we've got Joe Jackson in Miami Beach and the Mountain Goats in D.C. (including exclusive photos).

• *Roxana Hadadi caught the Mountain Goats at storied Washington venue the 9:30 club on Nov. 6, with ace shutterbug Adam Fried (who shot the pic above) in tow. "By performing more than 20 songs from a number of different albums and releases," writes Hadadi, "the Mountain Goats proved yet again why they're one of indie-rock's best, most un-pigeonhole-able live bands - and definitely one of the genre's most accomplished."

• *Then this past Monday night in Atlanta, Lee Zimmerman saw Joe Jackson and his band (plus opening act Thea Gilmore) at the Fillmore at the Jackie Gleason Theatre. In concert, observes Zimmerman, "the band recreated the material's pulsating underbelly and sense of urgency and exhilaration that found each song so bold and effusive in their recorded incarnations."
